Do you want a special reminder of one of the most important days of your life: your baby’s birth day? Consider having your labor and birth documented in photos!

About Birth Photography

Hiring a birth photographer frees up your partner or other support people and ensures you get those beautiful images captured. Birth and labor is very unpredictable. These are not typical portrait sessions; the lighting is usually dim (not ideal for photos) and it’s difficult to plan or assume what’s going to happen. I will shoot glimpses of your labor and birth unfolding naturally in a photo-journal style. Being trained as a birth doula, I will be sensitive to your needs as a laboring woman, I understand my role to document quietly and unobtrusively. Being on both sides of the birth process, I also understand which special moments you may want. Without a birth photographer, you may be left with just a few snapshot of the baby after delivery. I will help you to capture the amazing labor process and the incredible birth miracle.

My Birth Photography Packages

* Consultation: We will discuss what to expect, what moments you wish captured, etc. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to secure your session (deposit will only be refunded in the event that I cannot make it to your birth) and the remainder of the fee is due at the time of your birth.

* I will arrive at your chosen birth place when you are in active labor and will stay about two hours after the birth

* 50 (or more) very high quality edited photos on CD with the copyrights that you can have printed anywhere you like at any size you like

* I will get you your photos usually within 1-2 weeks after your birth

* Images will mostly be in black & white with some color.

* A DVD video slideshow can be purchased for an additional $40

On-call just for you: $400

• I book your date just as I would a doula client, virtually guaranteeing my availability at your birth (barring emergency situations)

Open option: $250

• I do not book your date, if I am not already at a delivery, I will be available to photograph yours
